Why Intern at Primarc Studio?

Most architecture students spend years in university learning how buildings should be designed. Very few get to see, before they graduate, how a real studio actually runs, how a project moves from a first client conversation to a set of construction drawings, how decisions get made, revised, and defended, and what it takes to deliver work that gets built.

That is what Primarc Studio offers.

You will contribute to real deliverables, guided, reviewed, and held to the same standard we hold ourselves while having enough support around you to learn without being thrown in at the deep end.

At the start of each week you will know exactly what you are working on whether that is drafting construction drawings, building a 3D model, researching materials, or contributing to a live client presentation. The studio moves fast, and feedback does not wait for a formal review. A senior might stop by your screen mid-morning, look at what you are doing, and redirect you on the spot. That is not criticism that is how good work gets made, and it is one of the fastest ways to grow.

Most of your time will be spent in the studio, working alongside the team. On some weeks, depending on the projects running at the time, you may join a site visit stepping away from the screen to see how the drawings you have been working on translate into an actual building under construction. By the end of the week, you will have contributed something real. That is what we ask of everyone here, intern or not.

Who can apply?

We have welcomed interns from some of Pakistan’s leading architecture programs including NCA, NUST, UET, University of Gujrat, and CECOS and we are proud of the diversity of thinking that different schools bring into the studio. Every university has its own design culture, and that variety makes the work richer for everyone.

If your university is not on that list, apply anyway. We review every portfolio on its own merit, not on the name of the institution behind it. If your work is thoughtful and your curiosity is genuine, we want to hear from you.

FAQs

Should I include a cover letter?
While a formal cover letter is not mandatory, we welcome a brief personal statement in the body of your email. Don't worry about it being formal, tell us why you are passionate about architecture and what you hope to gain from an internship at Primarc Studio. Your portfolio will be the primary focus of our review.
Is there a page limit or preferred format for portfolio?
Yes, clarity and curation are key. Please submit your portfolio as a single PDF file, under 25MB. We recommend a curated selection of 5-7 of your strongest and most relevant projects (academic or otherwise). We are more interested in the quality of your work than the quantity.
Is this a paid internship?
Yes. We believe in compensating our interns for their valuable contributions to projects or exercises. Our internships include a competitive monthly stipend to help cover travel expenses during your time with us.
Will I get a certificate or letter of completion?
Yes. Every intern who successfully completes the program receives an official letter of completion from Primarc Studio, confirming their internship period and the scope of work they were involved in. This can be used for your CV, university records, or future job applications.
How many interns do you take per cycle?
We keep our cohorts deliberately small typically between three and five interns per cycle. This is an intentional decision. A smaller group means more meaningful interaction with the team, more direct mentorship, and a better experience overall.
How long does the selection process take?
We typically take one to two weeks to review portfolios. Shortlisted candidates are then contacted for confirmation. If you have not heard from us after two weeks, feel free to follow up at contact@primarcstudio.com.
What are the typical working hours, and is the schedule flexible?
Our standard studio hours are from 09:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday to Saturday. We expect interns to be present during these core hours to ensure full immersion in team projects and mentorship. Please feel free to discuss this with us during the interview stage.
What happens on the first day?
Your first day is structured to ease you in. You will be introduced to the full team, given a walkthrough of the studio, and briefed on the projects currently in progress. You will also be set up with the tools and software access you need. By the end of the first day you will have a clear picture of what you will be working on during the week and who your primary point of contact is.
Do interns work on all project types?
It depends on what is running in the studio at the time of your internship. We work across residential, commercial, hospitality, and institutional projects simultaneously, and interns are generally assigned where the need is greatest. That said, if you have a strong preference or a particular area you want to develop, mention it during your interview. We will do our best to factor it in, though we cannot guarantee a specific project type.
What software skills are essential for applicants?
Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential for all applicants. A strong working knowledge of 3D modeling software like SketchUp or Revit is highly advantageous, and familiarity with rendering software (such as Enscape or V-Ray) and the Adobe Creative Suite is a significant plus.

That being said, we believe software is just an extension of a designer's creativity. Our process is rooted in fundamentals; every project's initial planning and iteration happens on paper. A strong portfolio, for us, demonstrates not just technical skill, but a thoughtful and creative process that begins long before a mouse is clicked.
